How to Style a Blanket Coat for Fall
Embrace this cozy fall trend in style with a few simple style hacks.
Jeans and boots have become a cornerstone of my fall wardrobe. I've been looking for a cozy way to update my fall outfits and it was as easy as adding a layer. Try a blanket coat this autumn to stay warm in style.
Cozy Up With a Blanket Coat
When you have a go-to look, like so many of us busy mamas do, it can feel a bit stale after a while. If that happens to you, simply switch up your outerwear for a fresh look. My fall uniform is typically a sweater, leggings or skinnies and boots. I'll never give it up simply because it's so darn comfortable. Plus, it's so practical for running around in. Whether I'm heading to school drop off, a play date or even a meeting, this look works. And when it starts to cool down, it's easy to add a layer. Get ready to be warm and look oh so cool!
This fall I'm embracing all things cozy with a new blanket coat from Eva Franco. My good friend Andrea, works with the designer and found this coat for me. It's perfect for those of us who love the New England vibe.
It's called the Coco Longline Plaid Coat ($295). It's available in yellow plaid or red plaid. I, of course, craved the red--it's so Vermont-y. It's got a beautiful flow thanks to the lightweight wool-blend. It's the perfect coat for layering up this fall season.
The Keys to Styling a Blanket Coat
- Keep the lines trim. No bulky knits under the jacket.
- Try a turtleneck. I like elevating the neckline with a turtleneck.
- Go for dark neutrals underneath. Dark denim or black leggings will be perfect
- Try a boot. Anchor this look with a black boot like a hiking or moto style.
- Find a blanket coat with swing. Skip the ones that are too bulky and stiff.
